此句是询问对方星期几时常用的交际用语。
其答语用“It is…”。
eg：—What day is it today？今天星期几？
—It's Monday.今天星期一。
“day”为可数名词，其复数形式为days。
eg：You can stay at home for three days.
你可以在家呆三天。

此句是谈论天气时常用的交际用语。回答时常用表示天气情况的形容词。

谈论天气是西方人见面时互相寒暄、打开话题、摆脱冷场和尴尬局面的最佳选择。此句还可以跟“What's the weather like？”互相替换。即：
