等于do one’s best，后跟to do形式。one’s要随主语的变化而改变。

eg：I try my best to learn English.

＝I do my best to learn English.

ago/ə'gəʊ/adv.以前

eg：A long time ago, there was a tiger in the forest.    

很久以前，森林中有只老虎。

辨析ago和before

时间段＋ago

表示“一段时间以前”，常用于一般过去时。

I bought a bike two days ago.我两天前买了一辆自行车。

before＋时间点

表示“在某具体的时间之前”，可用于一般现在时/一般过去时/一般将来时等时态。

He often gets to school before 7 o’clock.他经常在七点之前到校。

She was a nurse before 2010.

2010年之前，她是一名护士。

I will call you before Friday.

我会在周五之前给你打电话。

知识点3

important/ɪm'pɔːtənt/adj.重要的 

important为多音节单词，比较级为more important，最高级为the most important。相似的词有beautiful, colourful, delicious等。

eg：Is there anything important in today’s newspaper?
