◆the well-known writer and educator在句中作主语Helen Keller的同位语,起解释说明的作用。这里的writer和educator指的是同一个人,所以只用了一个冠词。

◆at the age of意为“在……岁时”,of后接基数词,有时也可省略为“at+基数词”或“at age+基数词”。at(the age of)/at age…可位于句首或句末,在功能上相当于when引导的时间状语从句。
